“Small sips and taste
Beauty is in the eyes of the Beer holder”
Growing up not far from the Abbotsford brewery, the Small Sips blogger was always surrounded by the aroma of beer and he learned to appreciate the subtle nuances and complexities of different brews from an early age.
Still now living in Melbourne, a city that boasts a thriving and diverse craft beer scene, he loves to explore the many breweries, pubs and bottle shops that offer a variety of styles and flavours for every palate.
But with so many options, how do you know what to choose? How do you remember what you liked and what you didn’t? That’s where this site comes in.
It’s a collection of personal reviews of mostly craft beers, based on Small Sips’ own experiences and impressions. He doesn’t use a rating system because he knows that taste is subjective and depends on many factors. Instead, his tasting notes give you brief descriptions to help guide you as to whether to try the beer yourself.
Sometimes you’ll see ‘TBR’ (short for ‘to be reviewed’) on this site. That means Small Sips was too busy enjoying the beer to write down his thoughts. He doesn’t want to make up anything later, so he leaves those beers without a comment. But don’t worry, there are plenty of other beers with descriptions to help you out.
Tasting notes are provided in a downloadable PDF format arranged by brewery name, beer style, and alcohol content, so you can easily find what you’re looking for. Head to the Beers link to find notes on different styles that serve as a quick reference. Of course, Small Sips can’t drink every beer in the world (although he tries), so if you want to learn more about the amazing world of beer, check out the Crafty Pint and back of the ferry websites. They’re a great resource for beer lovers everywhere.
Now, kick back and savour the flavours of good beer!
Cheers!
